New driver license and ID Card requirements start in October 2020. You will need a Travel ID endorsement to use your Arizona Driver License or Identification Card at TSA security checkpoints.

If your license currently has a star in the upper right corner indicates that you have a Travel ID and you’re set for October 2020 and beyond. If you don’t have a Travel license, you may not want to wait until the last minute. Step by step instructions can be found at azdot.gov/travelID.

Any new drivers obtaining a drivers license should apply for a Travel ID when applying for their license.

In order for anyone to obtain a Travel ID they need to provide the following documentation:

  • Proof of legal presence (ex: birth certificate or passport)
  • Proof of social security (ex: social security card, W2 form or recent pay stub)
  • Proof of residency (recent utility bill, bank statement, mortgage statement, voter registration card)
