The Scottsdale move is almost complete. We will be moving the remainder of the front office to our new back space, and beginning on Monday, October 21st, the front door to our Scottsdale office will be on the east side of the building.
On another note, DrivingMBA will mark 10 years in business on November 23rd. Notice I’m not saying “celebrating 10 years in business” because, honestly, it’s been a difficult road. We have become zealots about properly preparing novice drivers for the responsibility of driving and while the temptation to make it easier and cheaper to “get more business” is constant, we haven’t compromised our principles.
Instructors have come and gone over the years and I can honestly say we’ve always had staff that does their job with passion and conviction. If they didn’t, they didn’t last here. We have some new instructors or those that joined us in the past several years. When we hire them, they are amazed at what it takes to train them to become DrivingMBA instructors. They always come in thinking “this will be easy, I have a clean record, I am a good driver, how hard can this be?” Ask them about what we do to prepare them to become an instructor.
We also have some instructors who have been with us for years, Art Eckstat, for one, instructs in our Defensive Driving Skills course and constantly tells me “this is a labor of love.” If you’re in our office, ask Art or any of our instructors about what they think about how we train, or what we expect of our students and of our parents. We expect a lot, we see this as a priority because our student’s lives are at stake and we take the responsibility very seriously.
