Training Programs for Licensed Teen Drivers

BOOST Driver TRAINING

Introducing brand new teen driver boost programs for licensed teenage drivers.

It’s no secret that teen drivers are at greater risk for car crashes than older adults – four times greater according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

ABOUT BOOST PROGRAMS

Inexperience dealing with emergency situations and distracted driving are just some of the factors that are responsible for the statistics.

DrivingMBA is now offering 2-hour Boost Programs in our Defensive Driving Simulator to help refresh the skills of licensed teen drivers that have been involved in a collision, received tickets, or just need to be reminded of the dangers of distracted driving.

Licensed Teen Driver Boost Programs

All Boost Programs are 2-hour in length and take place in our Defensive Driving Simulator labs. These programs are designed to refresh the skills of licensed teen drivers that have been involved in a collision, received tickets, or just need to be reminded of the dangers of distracted driving.
Distracted Driver Boost

Friends, cell phones, music, food, texts are all serious distractions for any driver. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and State Farm Insurance reported that close to 90% of teens observed other teens talking on their phones and over 50% reported their peers using phones for texting and music playlists. IIHS and Johns Hopkins University have reported that 16-year-old drivers with two passengers are at double the risk of having a fatal car crash than if they were driving alone. Three or more triples the risk.

A 2-hour program designed for licensed drivers who have had a collision due to distracted driving or whose parents are concerned about their teen’s driving behavior.

  • Driver Behavior Survey: Analysis of the current beliefs of the student
  • Reality Check Video on Distracted Drivers
  • Demonstrate: The student will participate in scenarios that are designed to help the student understand how distracted driving affects everyone.
  • Experience: The student will practice scanning in scenarios that are designed to help the student develop strong scanning skills so that they are able to spot distracted drivers.
  • Apply: The student will apply what they have learned by completing scenarios that are designed to challenge to student to avoid collisions.
Speeding Boost

Teens speed mostly because they don’t have a good sense of how a car’s speed can affect their response time. The Institute for Highway Safety reported that speeding was a key factor in one-third of all fatal car crashes when teens are behind the wheel.

  • Apply: The student will apply what they have learned by completing scenarios that are designed to challenge to student keep the appropriate speed to avoid collisions.
Space Cushion Boost

Maintaining a proper following distance is a critical step in preventing collisions. Unfortunately, many teens fail to do so. Many will tend to drive aggressively to show off or emulate what they have seen from the adults in their lives.

A 2-hour program designed for licensed drivers who have had a rear-end collision or whose parents are concerned that they brake too late.

  • Driver Behavior Survey: Analysis of the current beliefs of the student
  • Reality Check Video on Space Cushion
  • Demonstrate: The student will participate in scenarios that are designed to help the student understand how far they are from other vehicles and how that affects the ability to stop.
  • Experience: The student will practice keeping the appropriate space cushion in scenarios that are designed to help the student develop strong skills so that they are able to react to other vehicles.
  • Apply: The student will apply what they have learned by completing scenarios that are designed to challenge to student to keep the appropriate space cushion and avoid collisions.
Red Light Running Boost

Teen drivers are known to take too many risks. Studies have proven that when confronting risky choices, teen brains exhibit twice as much activity in the impulse area as adult brains, while the area that expresses restraint lags. This can lead to making the decision to accelerate at a yellow-red light versus stopping leading to potentially deadly red-light running incidents.

A 2-hour program designed for licensed drivers who need a reminder about the dangers of intersections and how to properly approach a stale green or yellow light. Arizona ranks among the worst states for red-light runners.

  • Driver Behavior Survey: Analysis of the current beliefs of the student
  • Reality Check Video on Red-Light Running
  • Demonstrate: The student will participate in scenarios that are designed to help the student understand how far they are from a stoplight, and when they should start braking.
  • Experience: The student will practice scanning in scenarios that are designed to help the student develop strong scanning skills so that they are able to avoid red-light runners.
  • Apply: The student will apply what they have learned by completing scenarios that are designed to challenge a student to stop appropriately at red-lights and avoiding red-light runners.

Google Review

I have three children, all of whom have done different driving schools to learn to drive. DrivingMBA is by far the most thorough, comprehensive, and effective driving school we have used. I feel my son is very prepared and is an educated driver. It costs more, but it is worth it.

Driving MBA we’re very good and patient with my 17 year old son. They spent a lot of time with him during his lessons and taught him above and beyond what I would have done. Highly recommended to teach your aspiring young driver. Thank you Driving MBA.
